Stat. tit. 43A, § 43A-10-112","heading":"Vulnerable Adult Intervention Task Force - Members -","body":"Terms - Duties.\n\nA. The Department of Human Services, together with the\n\nDepartment of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, shall\n\ndevelop and implement a Vulnerable Adult Intervention Task Force.\n\nThe purpose of the task force shall be to study and examine how to\n\nbest provide interdisciplinary community assistance, intervention,\n\nand referral services for persons with mental or physical illnesses\n\nor disabilities, dementia or other related disease or condition.\n\nB. The task force shall consist of at least eleven (11) members\n\nas follows:\n\n1. One member who shall be a member of the Oklahoma House of\n\nRepresentatives, to be appointed by the Speaker of the Oklahoma\n\nHouse of Representatives, and one member who shall be a member of\n\nthe Oklahoma Senate, to be appointed by the President Pro Tempore of\n\nthe Oklahoma Senate;\n\n2. Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services, or designee;\n\n3. Commissioner of the State Department of Health, or designee;\n\n4. Director of the State Department of Rehabilitation Services,\n\nor designee;\n\n5. One member who shall be a representative from law\n\nenforcement, to be appointed by the Senate President Pro Tempore;\n\n6. One member who shall be a current or former municipal\n\nemployee who worked as a code enforcement officer, to be appointed\n\nby the Speaker of the House of Representatives;\n\n7. One member who shall be a public defender, or designee, to\n\nbe appointed by the Governor;\n\n8. One member who shall be a citizen of this state and a\n\ncurrent or former member of an advocacy organization that represents\n\nvulnerable adults or persons with mental illness, to be appointed by\n\nthe House Minority Leader;\n\n9. One member who shall be a physician licensed to practice in\n\nthis state, to be appointed by the Senate Minority Leader; and\n\n10. The Director of the Department of Human Services, or\n\ndesignee.\n\nMembers of the task force shall serve for a thirty–month term.\n\nC. Appointments to the task force shall be made by July 1,\n\n2010. The first meeting shall be convened on or before August 1,\n\n2010. A majority of the members present at a meeting shall\n\nconstitute a quorum to do business. Members of the task force shall\n\nreceive no compensation for their service, but shall receive travel\n\nreimbursement by the appointing authority pursuant to the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act.\n\nD. The task force is authorized to meet as necessary in order\n\nto perform the duties imposed on it.\n\nE. The task force shall recommend a curriculum, which at a\n\nminimum should include training for individuals on the symptoms,\n\ncauses and evidence-based services and interventions for illnesses\n\nand conditions contained herein. The training should also address\n\npossible crisis situations arising from these illnesses and\n\nconditions and steps to support an individual in a crisis situation.\n\nF. On or before December 31, 2010, and annually thereafter, the\n\ntask force shall submit a report to the Legislature stating the\n\nrecommendations and findings of the task force including but not\n\nlimited to suggested legislative action, funding sources, state\n\nagency action, and numbers of potential participants in recommended\n\nprograms, either as a team member who promotes services or a\n\nrecipient of services, and any recommendations for improvement of\n\nthe program.\n\nG. The task force shall be subject to the provisions of the\n\nOpen Records Act and the Open Meeting Act.
