Stat. tit. 43A, § 43A-3-302","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Unified Community Mental Health Services Act:\n\n1. \"Certified behavioral health case manager\" means any person\n\nwho is certified by the Department of Mental Health and Substance\n\nAbuse Services to offer behavioral health case management services\n\nwithin the confines of a mental health facility, or services for\n\nalcohol and drug dependents, that is operated by the Department or\n\ncontracts with the state to provide behavioral services;\n\n2. \"Case management\" means the application of case management\n\nprinciples and practices of linking, advocacy and referral in\n\npartnership with the consumer to support the consumer in self-\n\nsufficiency and community tenure for consumers of mental health or\n\nsubstance abuse services;\n\n3. \"Catchment area or service area\" means a geographic area\n\nestablished by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse\n\nServices;\n\n4. \"Community mental health center\" means a facility offering:\n\na. a comprehensive array of community-based mental health\n\nservices, including, but not limited to, outpatient\n\ntreatment, emergency evaluation and care,\n\nconsultation, education, rehabilitation services, and\n\naftercare, and\n\nb. certain services at the option of the center,\n\nincluding, but not limited to, inpatient treatment,\n\ntraining programs, and research and evaluation\n\nprograms;\n\n5. \"Community mental health services\", in conformance with\n\nfederal requirements, means services for the treatment of mental\n\nillness and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, and the\n\nprevention, diagnosis, or rehabilitation of such persons;\n\n6. \"Mental health facility\" means:\n\na. a community mental health center,\n\nb. an outpatient facility offering diagnostic and\n\ntreatment services,\n\nc. a day care facility offering a treatment program for\n\nchildren or adults suffering from mental or emotional\n\nproblems, or\n\nd. community residential mental health programs and\n\nfacilities which provide supervised residential care,\n\ncounseling, case management or other similar services\n\nto children or adults suffering from mental or\n\nemotional problems; and\n\n7. \"Program of assertive community treatment\" means a facility,\n\nagency or organization that offers or provides a self-contained\n\nclinical team, under the medical supervision of a licensed\n\npsychiatrist, to provide needed treatment, rehabilitation, and\n\nsupport services to individuals with serious mental illness who have\n\nsevere symptoms and impairments not effectively remedied by\n\navailable treatments or to individuals who resist or avoid\n\ninvolvement in other needed mental health services.","path":["OK Code","Title 43A"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os43A.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"2e39ca4b6496010b0ba5ef9e16707857ee97f38b6021bd7cd7eb8232c3393ca2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43a-43a-3-301","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-43a-43a-3-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
