The Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services\n\nshall promulgate rules and standards for certification of behavioral\n\nhealth case managers who are:\n\n1. Employed by the state;\n\n2. Employed by behavioral services providers contracting with\n\nthe state to provide behavioral health services;\n\n3. Employed by a tribe or tribal facility that provides\n\nbehavioral health services; or\n\n4. Employed by an Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs or a\n\nUnited States Department of Veterans Affairs facility.\n\nB. Such rules and standards shall address criteria for\n\ncertification and renewal, including minimum education requirements,\n\nexamination and supervision requirements, continuing education\n\nrequirements, and rules of professional conduct.\n\nC. Application for certification as a behavioral health case\n\nmanager shall be made to the Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services on prescribed forms. The Board, or the\n\nCommissioner of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services upon\n\ndelegation by the Board, may certify the behavioral health case\n\nmanager for a period of two (2) years subject to renewal as provided\n\nin the rules promulgated by the Board.\n\nD. The Board is authorized to establish an application and\n\nrenewal fee of no more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to defray\n\nthe costs incurred in the certification process.\n\nE. Behavioral health case managers certified by the Board or\n\nthe Commissioner shall only use the title \"certified behavioral\n\nhealth case manager\" if employed by the state, employed by\n\nbehavioral services providers contracting with the state to provide\n\nbehavioral health services, employed by a tribe or tribal facility\n\nthat provides behavioral health services or employed by an Oklahoma\n\nDepartment of Veterans Affairs or a United States Department of\n\nVeterans Affairs facility. This section shall not be construed to\n\npermit the certified behavioral health case manager to practice any\n\nof the following professions or use the following titles unless also\n\nlicensed or accredited by the appropriate authority: physician,\n\npsychologist, clinical social worker, professional counselor,\n\nmarital and family therapist, behavioral practitioner, or alcohol\n\nand drug counselor.\n\nF. Failure to comply with rules and standards promulgated by\n\nthe Board shall be grounds for revocation, suspension or nonrenewal\n\nof certification.\n\nG.
