The Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services\n\nshall promulgate rules and standards for certification of facilities\n\nor organizations that desire to be certified as a program of\n\nassertive community treatment for the provision of community-based\n\ncomprehensive treatment for persons with serious mental illness and\n\nrelated disorders.\n\nB. Applications for certification as a program of assertive\n\ncommunity treatment shall be made to the Department on prescribed\n\nforms. The Board, or the Commissioner upon delegation by the Board,\n\nmay certify the program of assertive community treatment for a\n\nperiod of three (3) years subject to renewal as provided in the\n\nrules promulgated by the Board. The Department of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services is authorized to establish and collect\n\ncertification and renewal fees for certification of programs for\n\nassertive community treatment as provided in Section 3-324 of this\n\ntitle.\n\nC. No program of assertive community treatment shall operate or\n\ncontinue to operate unless the program complies with the rules\n\npromulgated by the Board and is certified as required by this\n\nsection.\n\nD.
