Stat. tit. 43A, § 43A-3-402","heading":"Public policy - Purpose","body":"\n\nIt is hereby declared to be the public policy of this state to\n\nrecognize alcoholism and drug abuse as illnesses and public health\n\nproblems affecting the health, safety, morals, economy and general\n\nwelfare of the state; to recognize alcoholism and drug abuse as\n\nillnesses subject to medical treatment and other therapeutic\n\nintervention and abatement; and to recognize that the sufferer of\n\nalcoholism and drug abuse is entitled to treatment and\n\nrehabilitation.
