If treatment is provided by an approved treatment facility\n\nto a consumer admitted under the provisions of this act and the\n\nconsumer has not paid the fees charged for such treatment, the\n\napproved treatment facility is entitled to any payment received:\n\n1. By the consumer to which he is entitled because of the\n\nservices rendered; and\n\n2. From any public or private source available to the facility\n\nbecause of the treatment provided to the consumer.\n\nB. A consumer admitted to an approved treatment facility under\n\nthe provisions of this act, the estate of the consumer or a person\n\nobligated by law to pay for the treatment of the consumer, and\n\nfinancially able to do so, is liable to the approved treatment\n\nfacility for the cost of maintenance and treatment of the consumer\n\nin the facility in accordance with the published rates.\n\nC. The administrator of the facility shall adopt rules\n\ngoverning financial ability to pay for maintenance and treatment\n\nwhich take into consideration the income, savings and other personal\n\nand real property of the person required to pay, and any support\n\nbeing furnished by him to any person he is required by law to\n\nsupport.
