Upon receiving an order from a district court to convey a\n\nmentally ill, alcohol-dependent, or drug-dependent female to a\n\nfacility, the sheriff of such county shall procure a suitable female\n\nto assist in conveying the female to the facility if the sheriff or\n\ndeputy who will be conveying the female is male.\n\nB. If a female attendant is not available, a male sheriff or\n\nmale deputy may convey the mentally ill, alcohol-dependent or drug-\n\ndependent female without a female attendant if the sheriff or deputy\n\nconveying the female notifies the dispatcher of the specific mileage\n\nfrom the collection point to the destination point, the time of\n\ndeparture and the estimated time of arrival.\n\nC. The sheriff may procure assistance, and certify the same to\n\nthe county clerk as a part of the expense of the conveyance. No\n\nbill for the expense of such conveyance shall be allowed by the\n\ncommissioners of any county unless it is accompanied by a\n\ncertificate of the executive director of the facility, showing that\n\nthe person has been duly conveyed to the facility by, or accompanied\n\nby a female attendant or as otherwise authorized by this section.\n\nD.
