Stat. tit. 44, § 44-73","heading":"Local commanding officer - Order into service in emergency","body":"In the event of insurrection, rebellion, invasion, tumult, riot,\n\nresistance to law or process or breach of the peace, occurring in\n\nthe vicinity of the station of any organization or organizations of\n\nthe National Guard of Oklahoma whenever the exigencies of the\n\nsituation are such as to render it impossible first to communicate\n\nwith the Governor or the Adjutant General, the senior commanding\n\nofficer of that station, upon request in writing signed by the\n\nsheriff of the county involved or officer acting in his stead,\n\nstating the facts and the nature of the service desired, may order\n\nout the organization or organizations at that station, or such\n\nportion thereof as he shall deem necessary, and cause them to\n\nperform such duty as the circumstances shall require, and such\n\ncommanding officers shall immediately report what he has done and\n\nall of the circumstances of the case to the Governor, and it shall\n\nbe deemed that the action was taken by order of the Governor.","path":["OK Code","Title 44"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os44.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"e102ad2de7c2f1f49f28071a85e58110cf60b2f54242c280f7fd304b5ba4b82e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-44-44-72","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-44-44-74"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
