Irregular and similar pleas. If an accused after\n\narraignment makes an irregular pleading, or after a plea of guilty\n\nsets up matter inconsistent with the plea, or if it appears that he\n\nor she has entered the plea of guilty improvidently or through lack\n\nof understanding of its meaning and effect, or if he or she fails or\n\nrefuses to plead, a plea of not guilty shall be entered in the\n\nrecord, and the court shall proceed as though he or she had pleaded\n\nnot guilty.\n\nB. Pleas of guilty. With respect to any charge or\n\nspecification to which a plea of guilty has been made by the accused\n\nand accepted by the military judge, a finding of guilty of the\n\ncharge or specification may be entered immediately without vote.\n\nThis finding shall constitute the finding of the court unless the\n\nplea of guilty is withdrawn prior to announcement of the sentence,\n\nin which event the proceedings shall continue as though the accused\n\nhad pleaded not guilty.\n\nC. Harmless error.
