The Oklahoma Mining Commission shall be the policy-\n\ndetermining agency for the Department of Mines and shall determine\n\nthe broad plans and programs for the accomplishment of duties and\n\nresponsibilities vested by law in said Commission, the Chief Mine\n\nInspector and the Department of Mines, and may in the absence of an\n\nappointed Chief Mine Inspector, fix the duties and responsibilities\n\nof personnel employed by the Department including, in the absence of\n\nan appointed Chief Mine Inspector, the Director of the Department of\n\nMines. It shall have the authority to delegate to its chairman, to\n\none or more agents or employees, such powers and duties as it may\n\ndeem proper. Each member of the Commission shall be reimbursed for\n\nactual and necessary travel expenses necessarily incurred in the\n\ndischarge of official duties as provided in the State Travel\n\nReimbursement Act.\n\nB. In addition to other powers and duties specified by law, the\n\nOklahoma Mining Commission shall have the power and duty to:\n\n1. acquire by gift, devise, purchase or otherwise, absolutely\n\nor in trust, and to hold and, unless otherwise restricted by the\n\nterms of the gift or devise, any real property or real estate or\n\nother interest therein as may be necessary in carrying into effect\n\nthe purpose of this act.\n\n2. enter into contracts and to execute all instruments\n\nnecessary to fulfill its duties, respecting the protection,\n\npreservation, maintenance and operation of such buildings and sites\n\nas it may select.","path":["OK Code","Title 45"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os45.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"00a3459cd82a7ea99ab5fa31ab08866a102d655aa08cd95f922cb39612874e41","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-1.5","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-1b"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
