Stat. tit. 45, § 45-417","heading":"Dust - Water lines - Sprinkling attachments","body":"The Mine Inspector is hereby authorized, empowered and directed\n\nto thoroughly inspect all underground excavations in all such mines\n\nas often as such Inspector may deem proper, for the purpose of\n\nascertaining or discovering in the air in any such mine or mines the\n\npresence of dust in such quantities as shall be injurious to the\n\nhealth of the employees engaged in working in such underground\n\nexcavations; and upon finding dust in the air of any such mine or\n\nmines in quantities exceeding three hundred particles per cubic\n\ncentimeter, as shall tend to injure the health of the employees of\n\nsuch mine, such Inspector shall immediately notify the operator of\n\nsuch mine or mines, in writing, specifying the underground\n\nexcavation so found to contain dust particles in excessive amounts,\n\nas aforesaid in the air thereof, and such operator of such mine or\n\nmines shall within fifteen (15) days after receiving such written\n\nnotice, provide, install, and equip, and thereafter at all times\n\nmaintain in such mine, a water line fully equipped, and in good\n\nserviceable working order and repair, leading up to the face of any\n\nand all drifts where dust is produced, or so close to the face of\n\nsaid drifts so that by the use of a suitable hose extension or\n\nsprinkling attachments to be supplied by the owner or owners of said\n\nmine, the mineral or earth in and adjoining the face of the drift or\n\ndrifts of such mine can be sprinkled or wet by water from said\n\npipeline; thereupon and thereafter, every person drilling, squibbing\n\nor blasting in said mine shall keep the face, surface, and drill\n\nholes in said drifts or drift wet or moist by the use of water from\n\nsaid water line to such an extent in such a way as shall prevent, as\n\nfar as possible, any dust raising from the working of any such face,\n\nor from the drilling, blowing, or shooting of any hole or holes; and\n\nthe ground foreman in charge of the underground workings in any such\n\nmine or mines, so equipped with a water line, shall require all\n\nground or dirt after being shot or blasted to be thoroughly wet or\n\nsprinkled to such an extent as shall prevent, as far as is\n\npracticable any dust from arising therefrom, while the employees are\n\nat work therein.","path":["OK Code","Title 45"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os45.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"da89824ec2757500de3c02347a4201e2837549dcabf5a3662aee6312a3e004fb","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-416","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-418"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
