Stat. tit. 45, § 45-423","heading":"Hoisting equipment","body":"The hoisting equipment shall be of such kind and in such\n\ncondition as to as nearly assure certainty of operation and ease of\n\ncontrol at all times, as is practicable. If electric power be used\n\nfor hoisting, the hoist shall be equipped with an auxiliary safety\n\nbrake. All hoisting derricks where swinging dump is used,\n\nconstructed after the date of the passage and approval of this law,\n\nshall be so constructed that at no time during the hoisting\n\noperations shall the fastening of the cable to the hook approach\n\nnearer than thirty-six (36) inches to the sheive. All hoisting\n\nsheives installed after the date of the passage and approval of this\n\nlaw, shall be equipped with a shaft the diameter of which shall be\n\nto the conveyance load hoisted not less than one (1) inch to each\n\nsix hundred (600) pounds per conveyance load. Nonspin wire rope\n\nshall be used for hoisting men and material, with a safety factor of\n\nsix required on new rope based on manufacturer's tables and maximum\n\ndead load. Said hoisting rope to be discarded for hoisting purposes\n\nwhen there are six broken wires in one rope lay, or when the wires\n\non the crown are worn sixty-five percent (65%) of the original\n\ndiameter. All hoisting hooks shall be of some safety type, and if\n\nstandard snap hook is used it shall be made of not less than one and\n\none-half (1 1/2) inch High-grade iron, and the hook shall be\n\nattached to the hoisting cable with thimble and three or more\n\nstandard clamps, such clamps to be at least eight (8) inches apart.","path":["OK Code","Title 45"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os45.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"db22f84c970637af0b4bc15d05cb7651bc31ae762b38a3c05ff1751eb177ff64","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-421","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-424"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
