Stat. tit. 45, § 45-902","heading":"Certificate of competency - Violations - Examinations -","body":"First-aid certificates.\n\nIt shall be unlawful for any person in the State of Oklahoma to\n\nact as superintendent, mine foreman or shot firer without first\n\nhaving obtained a certificate of competency from the State Mining\n\nBoard as herein provided for.\n\nThe examination given by the State Mining Board to an applicant\n\nfor a certificate of competency as superintendent, mine foreman or\n\nshot firer shall include a written or oral or written and oral\n\nexamination to determine that he fully understands the requirements\n\nof the mining laws of Oklahoma.\n\nEach applicant shall hold a first-aid certificate issued to him\n\nwithin two (2) years previous to the date of the examination by an\n\norganization recognized by the State Mining Board.\n\nCertificates of competency for the positions enumerated shall be\n\ngranted to persons who have given the Chief Executive Officer of the\n\nBoard satisfactory evidence of their ability to perform the duties\n\nof the positions applied for and who have obtained the necessary\n\ngrades as determined by the Board for respective positions. In\n\ndetermining the grade of each applicant, due respect shall be given\n\nto the applicant's previous experience and record of service which\n\nshall have equal weight with the oral or written examination given\n\nto test the practical and technical knowledge of the applicant for\n\nthe certificate of competency being sought. Provided, however,\n\nsuccessful completion of the course of instruction provided by the\n\nOklahoma Miner Training Institute (OMTI) or other courses of\n\ninstruction provided by other training facilities and approved by\n\nthe Board shall be considered as having met this examination\n\nrequirement.","path":["OK Code","Title 45"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os45.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7f82758bd834f5814f4d7331a6e8cc9816816bd714534c2a0a507f705315ad69","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-901","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-45-45-903"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
