Stat. tit. 45, § 45-907","heading":"Inspection and examination of active strip and surface","body":"mines - Reports - Recommendations.\n\nIt shall be the duty of the Department of Mines to enter into\n\nand examine thoroughly each and every active strip or surface mine\n\nin the state four to six times annually and in response to\n\ncompliance concerns to see that the provisions of this act are\n\nobserved and strictly carried out. Mines with resident safety\n\nengineers supplying the Department with monthly self-monitoring\n\nreports shall be inspected a minimum of twice a year. The Chief\n\nMine Inspector or assistant inspectors, or both, may enter, inspect\n\nand examine any strip or surface pit and the works and machinery\n\nbelonging thereto at all times, either by night or by day. The\n\nowner and the employees may each designate a person who shall\n\naccompany the inspector during the state inspection of the mine.\n\nAfter each inspection the inspector shall make a report in\n\ntriplicate of the condition of the mine with recommendations and\n\norders. One copy shall be placed on file in the office of the Chief\n\nMine Inspector, one copy shall remain with the inspector, and one\n\ncopy shall be given to the operator who shall post it in a\n\nconspicuous place available for public inspection where it can be\n\nread and where it shall remain until the next state inspection\n\nreport is issued.
