A Class D motor vehicle is any motor vehicle or combination\n\nof vehicles which:\n\n1. Regardless of weight:\n\na. is marked and used as an authorized emergency vehicle,\n\nas defined in Section 1-103 of this title, or\n\nb. is designed and used solely as a recreational vehicle;\n\n2. Is a single or combination vehicle with a gross combined\n\nweight rating of less than twenty-six thousand one (26,001) pounds;\n\n3. Is a single or combination farm vehicle with a gross\n\ncombined weight rating of more than twenty-six thousand one (26,001)\n\npounds if:\n\na. it is entitled to be registered with a farm tag and\n\nhas a farm tag attached thereto,\n\nb. it is controlled and operated by a farmer, his or her\n\nfamily or employees,\n\nc. it is used to transport either agricultural products,\n\nfarm machinery, farm supplies or any combination of\n\nthose materials to or from a farm,\n\nd. it is not used in the operations of a common or\n\ncontract motor carrier, and\n\ne. it is used within one hundred fifty (150) air miles of\n\nthe person's farm or as otherwise provided by federal\n\nlaw; or\n\n4. Is operated by a licensed driver employed by a unit of local\n\ngovernment that operates a commercial motor vehicle within the\n\nboundaries of that unit of local government for the purpose of\n\nremoving snow or ice from a roadway by plowing, sanding or salting,\n\nif:\n\na. the properly licensed employee who ordinarily operates\n\na commercial vehicle for these purposes is unable to\n\noperate the vehicle, or\n\nb. the employing governmental entity determines that a\n\nsnow or ice emergency requires additional assistance.\n\nB. A Class D Motor Vehicle shall not include any vehicle which\n\nis:\n\n1. Designed to carry sixteen or more passengers, including the\n\ndriver; or\n\n2. Required to be placarded for hazardous materials under 49\n\nC.F.R., Part 172, subpart F; provided, a farm vehicle, as defined in\n\nparagraph 3 of subsection A of this section, which is required to be\n\nplacarded for hazardous materials under 49 C.F.R., Part 172, subpart\n\nF, shall be considered to be a Class D motor vehicle.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"4e86f8f12551cde98c39a8387c29f48ce825f7707d4cb4d8a1a176360e5927e3","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1-107.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1-108"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
