Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1-133.1a","heading":"Military surplus vehicle","body":"Military surplus vehicle.\n\nA. A \"military surplus vehicle\" is any motor vehicle having:\n\n1. Three axles or fewer that meet the legal size and weight\n\nlimits set forth in Section 14-103 of this title;\n\n2. Been manufactured for use in either the United States Armed\n\nForces or any country that was a member of the North Atlantic Treaty\n\nOrganization at the time the vehicle was manufactured. Such vehicle\n\nshall have been subsequently authorized for sale to civilians,\n\nexcept that military surplus vehicle does not include a tracked\n\nvehicle;\n\n3. For each occupant, safety belts or safety shoulder harnesses\n\nwhich shall be installed pursuant to 49 C.F.R., Section 571.208 et\n\nseq.; and\n\n4. Equipment required by the provisions of Sections 12-201\n\nthrough 12-232 of this title, with respect to equipment on vehicles.\n\nB. Beginning November 1, 2025, any military surplus vehicle\n\noperated on the streets and highways of this state shall be\n\nregistered as a motor vehicle.\n\nC. Military surplus vehicles may be used as other vehicles of\n\nthe same type, except military surplus vehicles may not transport\n\npeople for hire.\n\nD.
