Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1-133.2","heading":"Moped","body":"Moped.\n\nA \"moped\" is any motor-driven cycle with an electric or internal\n\ncombustion motor which produces not to exceed two brake horsepower\n\nand which is not capable of propelling the vehicle at a speed in\n\nexcess of thirty-five (35) miles per hour on level ground. If an\n\ninternal combustion engine is used, the displacement shall not\n\nexceed fifty cubic centimeters (50 cc), and the moped shall have a\n\npower drive system that functions directly or automatically without\n\nclutching or shifting by the operator after the drive system is\n\nengaged.
