Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1-171.1","heading":"Street-legal utility vehicle","body":"Street-legal utility vehicle.\n\nA. A \"street-legal utility vehicle\" is any motor vehicle\n\nhaving:\n\n1. A bench seat or side-by-side seat for the use of each rider;\n\n2. Four wheels in contact with the ground, but excluding a\n\ntractor;\n\n3. A combustion engine with a piston or rotor displacement of\n\nfour hundred cubic centimeters (400 cc) or greater and capable of\n\nmaintaining speeds of fifty (50) miles per hour or greater;\n\n4. For each occupant, safety belts or safety shoulder harnesses\n\nwhich shall be of a type and shall be installed pursuant to 49\n\nC.F.R., Section 571.208 et seq.; and\n\n5. All equipment required by the provisions of Sections 12-201\n\nthrough 12-232 of this title, with respect to equipment on vehicles.\n\nB. A street-legal utility vehicle operated on the streets and\n\nhighways of this state shall be registered as a motor vehicle.\n\nC. The operator of a street-legal utility vehicle shall not be\n\nrequired to have an \"M\" endorsement on the Class D license pursuant\n\nto Section 6-110.1 of this title.
