Stat. tit. 47, § 47-10-103","heading":"Accidents involving damage to vehicle","body":"The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting only\n\nin damage to a vehicle which is driven or attended by any person\n\nshall immediately stop such vehicle at the scene of such accident or\n\nas close thereto as possible but shall forthwith return to and in\n\nevery event shall remain at the scene of such accident until he has\n\nfulfilled the requirements of Section 10-104 of this title. Every\n\nsuch stop shall be made without obstructing traffic more than is\n\nnecessary. Any person failing to stop or comply with said\n\nrequirements under such circumstances shall be guilty of a\n\nmisdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine\n\nnot to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in\n\nthe county jail for not more than one (1) year, or by both such fine\n\nand imprisonment. In addition to the criminal penalties imposed by\n\nthis section, any person violating the provisions of this section\n\nshall be subject to liability for damages in an amount equal to\n\nthree times the value of the damage caused by the accident. Said\n\ndamages shall be recoverable in a civil action.
