Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1011","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Transportation Network Company Services\n\nAct:\n\n1. \"Digital network\" means any online-enabled application,\n\nsoftware, website or system offered or utilized by a TNC that\n\nenables the prearrangement of rides with TNC drivers;\n\n2. \"Personal vehicle\" means a vehicle that is used by a TNC\n\ndriver in connection with providing prearranged rides and is:\n\na. owned, leased or otherwise authorized for use by the\n\nTNC driver, and\n\nb. not a taxicab, limousine, or other similar for-hire\n\nvehicle of a motor carrier service;\n\n3. \"Prearranged ride\" means the provision of transportation by\n\na driver to a rider, beginning when a driver accepts a ride\n\nrequested by a rider through a digital network controlled by a\n\ntransportation network company, continuing while the driver\n\ntransports a requesting rider, and ending when the last requesting\n\nrider departs from the personal vehicle. A prearranged ride does\n\nnot include shared expense carpool or vanpool arrangements or\n\ntransportation provided using a taxi, limousine, or other for-hire\n\nvehicle pursuant to state law;\n\n4. \"Transportation network company (TNC)\" means a business\n\nentity licensed pursuant to this act and operating in Oklahoma that\n\nuses a digital network or software application service to connect\n\npassengers to transportation network company services provided by\n\ntransportation network company drivers. A TNC does not provide\n\ntaxicab, limousine, or other similar for-hire motor carrier service.\n\nA TNC shall not be deemed to control, direct or manage the personal\n\nvehicles or participating drivers that connect to its digital\n\nnetwork, except where agreed to by written contract. Further, a\n\ntransportation network company shall not include an individual,\n\ncorporation, partnership, sole proprietorship, or other entity\n\nsolely arranging nonemergency medical transportation for individuals\n\nqualifying for Medicaid or Medicare pursuant to a contract with a\n\ngovernmental entity or managed care organization;\n\n5. \"Transportation network company driver (TNC driver)\" means\n\nan individual who:\n\na. receives connections to potential passengers and\n\nrelated services from a TNC in exchange for payment of\n\na fee to the TNC, and\n\nb. uses a personal vehicle to provide prearranged rides\n\nto passengers upon connection through a digital\n\nnetwork controlled by a TNC in return for compensation\n\nor payment of a fee; and\n\n6. \"Transportation network company passenger (TNC passenger)\"\n\nmeans an individual or persons who use a digital network to connect\n\nwith a TNC driver who provides prearranged rides to the passenger in\n\nthe driver's personal vehicle between points chosen by the\n\npassenger.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"a81b12a522ddf462a6764dbb5efc62968a69a05835b825d2b48aa5713570275e","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1010","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1012"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
