Every person operating a bicycle or motorized scooter upon a\n\nroadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and\n\nplace and under the conditions then existing shall ride as close as\n\nis safe to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, except under\n\nany of the following situations:\n\n1. When overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in\n\nthe same direction;\n\n2. When preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a\n\nprivate road or driveway;\n\n3. When reasonably necessary to avoid conditions and while\n\nexercising due care, including but not limited to:\n\na. fixed or moving objects,\n\nb. parked or moving vehicles,\n\nc. pedestrians or animals,\n\nd. surface hazards, or\n\ne. any time it is unsafe to continue along the right-hand\n\ncurb or edge of the roadway; and\n\n4. When riding in the right-turn-only lane.\n\nB. Any person riding a bicycle or motorized scooter upon a one-\n\nway street or highway with two or more marked lanes of travel may\n\nride as close as is safe to the left-hand curb or edge of the street\n\nor highway.\n\nC. No person operating a bicycle or motorized scooter shall\n\npass other vehicles between lanes of traffic traveling in the same\n\ndirection.\n\nD. Persons riding bicycles or motorized scooters upon a roadway\n\nshall not ride more than two abreast except on paths or parts of\n\nroadways set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles or motorized\n\nscooters.
