Stat. tit. 47, § 47-11-208","heading":"Traffic signal preemption device – Possession, use,","body":"interference with, or sale.\n\nA. As used in this section, the term \"traffic signal preemption\n\ndevice\" shall mean a device designed for use by authorized emergency\n\nvehicles to improve traffic movement by temporarily controlling\n\nsignalized intersections.\n\nB. It shall be unlawful for a person to possess, use, or\n\ninterfere with a traffic signal preemption device unless:\n\n1. The person is the operator of an authorized emergency\n\nvehicle upon which the device is installed; and\n\n2. The person is responding to an existing or potential\n\nemergency and there is a threat of immediate danger to life or\n\nproperty which reasonably requires the use of the device in order to\n\nprotect the life, safety, health, or property of another person.\n\nC. It shall be unlawful to advertise, offer for sale, sell, or\n\notherwise distribute any traffic signal preemption device to any\n\nindividual person in this state.
