Stat. tit. 47, § 47-11-502","heading":"Pedestrians' right-of-way in crosswalks","body":"\n\n(a) When traffic-control signals are not in place or not in\n\noperation, the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way,\n\nslowing down or stopping if need be to so yield, to a pedestrian\n\ncrossing the roadway within a crosswalk when the pedestrian is upon\n\nthe half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling, or when\n\nthe pedestrian is approaching so closely from the opposite half of\n\nthe roadway as to be in danger.\n\n(b) No pedestrian shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of\n\nsafety and walk or run into the path of a vehicle which is so close\n\nthat it is impossible for the driver to yield.\n\n(c) Paragraph (a) shall not apply under the conditions stated in\n\nSection 11-503(b).\n\n(d) Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a marked crosswalk or at\n\nany unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian to\n\ncross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from\n\nthe rear shall not overtake and pass such stopped vehicle.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"566013d92ca88c82d928c500611e7af9bb8c8e46391c1d8ba61b6af5f56c1b2b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-11-501.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-11-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
