Stat. tit. 47, § 47-11-601","heading":"Required position and method of turning at","body":"intersections.\n\nThe driver of a vehicle intending to turn at an intersection\n\nshall do so as follows:\n\n1. Right turns. Both the approach for a right turn and a right\n\nturn shall be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or\n\nedge of the roadway.\n\n2. Left turns. The driver of a vehicle intending to turn left\n\nat an intersection shall approach the intersection in the extreme\n\nleft-hand lane lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction\n\nof travel of such vehicle. After entering the intersection, the\n\nleft turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection, as nearly\n\nas practicable, in the left-hand lane lawfully available to traffic\n\nmoving in such direction upon the roadway being entered. Whenever\n\npracticable, when leaving a two-way roadway, the left turn shall be\n\nmade in that portion of the intersection to the left of the center\n\nof the intersection.\n\n3. Local authorities in their respective jurisdictions may\n\ncause markers, buttons or signs to be placed within or adjacent to\n\nintersections and thereby require and direct that a different course\n\nfrom that specified in this section be traveled by vehicles turning\n\nat an intersection, and when markers, buttons or signs are so placed\n\nno driver of a vehicle shall turn a vehicle at an intersection other\n\nthan as directed and required by such markers, buttons or signs.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"30c97200ed78c16532ad5a1b070ab8a17fcf1eb5951c0bcc6d863a6dc19391f7","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-11-507","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-11-602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
