Except as otherwise provided in subsection B of this\n\nsection, at all times while a vehicle is being used or operated on\n\nthe roads of this state, the operator of the vehicle shall have in\n\nhis or her possession or carry in the vehicle and exhibit upon\n\ndemand to any peace officer of the state or duly authorized employee\n\nof the Department of Public Safety, either a:\n\n1. Registration certificate, an electronic version of the\n\nregistration certificate, or an official copy thereof. In addition,\n\nthe vehicle operator may redact home address information printed on\n\nthe registration certificate;\n\n2. True copy of rental or lease documentation issued for a\n\nmotor vehicle;\n\n3. Registration certificate, an electronic version of the\n\nregistration certificate, or an official copy thereof issued for a\n\nreplacement vehicle in the same registration period. In addition,\n\nthe vehicle operator may redact home address information printed on\n\nthe registration certificate;\n\n4. Temporary receipt printed upon self-initiated electronic\n\nrenewal of a registration via the Internet; or\n\n5. Cab card issued for a vehicle registered under the\n\nInternational Registration Plan.\n\nB.
