Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1115.2","heading":"Preemption of orders, ordinances, or regulations of","body":"municipalities or other political subdivisions – Exceptions.\n\nA. The Legislature hereby occupies and preempts the entire\n\nfield of legislation in this state touching in any way the\n\nenforcement of registration and licensing of automobiles to the\n\ncomplete exclusion of any order, ordinance, or regulation by any\n\nmunicipality or other political subdivision of this state. Any\n\nexisting or future orders, ordinances, or regulations in this field,\n\nexcept as provided for in subsection B of this section, are null and\n\nvoid.\n\nB. Nothing contained in this section shall prohibit any order,\n\nordinance, or regulation of any municipality from enacting and\n\nenforcing laws prohibiting and penalizing conduct prohibited by\n\nSections 1101 through 1151.1 of Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statutes,\n\nbut the provisions of such order, ordinance, or regulation by a\n\nmunicipality shall not be more stringent than those of the Oklahoma\n\nVehicle License and Registration Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"93eba01ad6a84335dfff1b43b555b2c3f3ccb0ca827cc468c3a52a589c6b5a69","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1115.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1115.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
