Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1124.1","heading":"Temporary permit or authorization for vehicle subject","body":"to proportional registration.\n\nThe Corporation Commission is authorized to issue temporary\n\npermits or authorization for any vehicle to be proportionally\n\nregistered in this state or which is currently proportionally\n\nregistered in this state under the provisions of the International\n\nRegistration Plan. Temporary permits may be issued for vehicles\n\nadded to the fleet, duplicate cab cards, corrected cab cards,\n\nreplacement license plates, adding jurisdictions, and weight\n\nincreases to established accounts in good standing. New accounts\n\nmay be issued temporary permits only after all fees are paid. Such\n\ntemporary permit or authorization shall authorize a vehicle to be\n\ndriven on the public roads of this state pending completion by the\n\nCorporation Commission of an application for proportional\n\nregistration of such vehicle. The temporary permit or authorization\n\nshall be recognized in lieu of registration in this state. The\n\ntemporary permit or authorization shall clearly indicate the date of\n\nissuance and the date of expiration, which shall be forty-five (45)\n\ndays, including the day of issuance. The Corporation Commission may\n\nenter into reciprocal agreements with other states for recognition\n\nof temporary permits or authorizations.\n\nThe Corporation Commission may assign the temporary permits or\n\nauthorization to registrants subject to proportional registration\n\nand such registrants may issue the temporary permits or\n\nauthorization as needed for the operation of vehicles that will be\n\noperated as a fleet of proportionally registered vehicles.\n\nRegistrants shall be accountable for all temporary permits or\n\nauthorization assigned to them by the Corporation Commission and\n\nshall be subject to audit by the Corporation Commission.\n\nThe Corporation Commission may enter into an agreement with any\n\nperson located within or without the state for the distribution and\n\nissuance of temporary permits or authorizations for any vehicle\n\nwhich is currently proportionally registered in this state under the\n\nprovisions of the International Registration Plan when the\n\nCorporation Commission determines that such agreement is in the best\n\ninterest of the state. Any such person or corporation shall be\n\naccountable for all temporary permits or authorizations assigned to\n\nthem by the Corporation Commission and shall be subject to audit by\n\nthe Corporation Commission.\n\nThe phrase “currently proportionally registered”, as used in\n\nthis section, shall be defined as any prorate account for which a\n\nproperly completed original application has been received by the\n\nCorporation Commission and all corresponding and assessed fees have\n\nbeen paid in full.\n\nSelf-issue temporary permits or authorizations may be issued to\n\na maximum of twenty-five percent (25%) of the size of the\n\nregistrant’s fleet, and any registrant with a fleet of fewer than\n\nsix vehicles may be assigned one self-issue permit.\n\nAn application shall be filed with the Corporation Commission\n\nwithin fifteen (15) days to proportionally register any vehicle for\n\nwhich a temporary permit or authorization has been issued.\n\nAny registrant that has entered into such an agreement with the\n\nCorporation Commission, that is unable to produce, or refuses to\n\nproduce, upon request by the Corporation Commission, any unissued\n\ntemporary permit or authorization assigned to such registrant, shall\n\nbe subject to the following penalty:\n\nA fee of One Hundred Eighty Dollars ($180.00) which is an amount\n\nequal to the fee for the number of seventy-two-hour temporary\n\npermits, provided for in Section 1124 of this title, that would be\n\nrequired for the operation of a vehicle for a forty-five-day period.\n\nIf, as the result of an audit, it is determined that any\n\nregistrant that has entered into such an agreement with the\n\nCorporation Commission has used temporary permits or authorizations\ntwo-hour temporary\n\npermits, provided for in Section 1124 of this title, that would be\n\nrequired for the operation of a vehicle for a forty-five-day period.\n\nIf, as the result of an audit, it is determined that any\n\nregistrant that has entered into such an agreement with the\n\nCorporation Commission has used temporary permits or authorizations\n\nto avoid payment of proportional registration fees, all remaining\n\nunissued temporary permits or authorizations in the possession of\n\nsuch registrant that has entered into such an agreement with the\n\nCorporation Commission shall be returned to the Corporation\n\nCommission, and the Corporation Commission may deny further use of\n\ntemporary permits or authorizations by such registrant that has\n\nentered into such an agreement with the Corporation Commission for a\n\nminimum period of six (6) months.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"752df29c65f80c16ec941a90a704159ad318580c5e619f4b71406c96212e50dd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1124","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1124.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
