Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1131","heading":"Order renewal - Notification","body":"Service Oklahoma shall annually notify all persons within the\n\nstate who have a previous registration on record of the period for\n\nregistration renewal. Service Oklahoma shall send the notifications\n\nto the electronic mail address provided by the person. If a person\n\ndoes not provide an electronic mail address then Service Oklahoma\n\nshall notify the person through the mail. The notifications shall\n\ncontain all necessary information for such registration and\n\nlicensing including a breakdown of all charges to be paid by the\n\nowner and shall contain instructions as to the procedure for renewal\n\nupon presentation to a licensed operator or by return mail to\n\nService Oklahoma's state office. The content and form of the notice\n\nshall be determined by Service Oklahoma. Use of a postcard or\n\nelectronic mail type renewal notice is specifically permitted.\n\nService Oklahoma shall provide information on its public website\n\ninstructing persons on the procedure for obtaining an annual\n\nnotification via electronic mail, outlining all charges and fees\n\nassociated with the registration of a vehicle, as well as an\n\nexplanation of the apportionment of vehicle fees and penalties. The\n\ncost of mailing shall be One Dollar ($1.00) for license plates and\n\nfifty cents ($0.50) for decals, titles or other forms or devices\n\nprovided in this act. Provided, that Service Oklahoma may adjust\n\nany mailing costs as deemed appropriate to allow for increased or\n\nadditional fees charged by the United States Postal Service.\n\nFailure by any applicant to receive notification of renewal as\n\nprovided by this act shall not excuse the applicant from properly\n\nobtaining any registration or license at the proper time by\n\npresenting proof of ownership to Service Oklahoma's state office or\n\nto a licensed operator.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d8d8a138b98445667c8136314db62632e456a1ef7c2f3b510a7a6f2b9ca93c8b","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1130","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1132"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
