Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1132.7","heading":"Motor Fuels Tax Fee for electric-drive and hybrid-drive","body":"motor vehicles.\n\nA. In addition to other vehicle registration fees specified by\n\nlaw, for the year beginning January 1, 2018, and for each year\n\nthereafter, there is hereby levied and there shall be paid to\n\nService Oklahoma a Motor Fuels Tax Fee of:\n\n1. One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) upon every electric-drive\n\nmotor vehicle to be registered; and\n\n2. Thirty Dollars ($30.00) upon every hybrid-drive motor\n\nvehicle to be registered.\n\nThe fee shall accrue and shall be collectible upon each\n\nelectric-drive motor vehicle and hybrid-drive motor vehicle under\n\nthe same circumstances and shall be payable in the same manner and\n\ntimes as apply to vehicle registrations under the provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Vehicle License and Registration Act; provided, the fee\n\nshall be paid in full for the then current year at the time any\n\nelectric-drive motor vehicle or hybrid-drive motor vehicle is first\n\nregistered in a calendar year.\n\nB. The collection and payment of the fee specified in this\n\nsection shall be a prerequisite to licensing or registration of any\n\nelectric-drive motor vehicle or hybrid-drive motor vehicle.\n\nC. Revenue from the fee provided for in subsection A of this\n\nsection shall be deposited in the State Treasury to the credit of\n\nthe State Highway Construction and Maintenance Fund created in\n\nSection 1501 of Title 69 of the Oklahoma Statutes.\n\nD. For purposes of this section:\n\n1. \"Electric-drive motor vehicle\" means a vehicle subject to a\n\nregistration fee as provided for in subsection A of Section 1132 of\n\nthis title that is propelled solely by electrical energy and is not\n\ncapable of using gasoline, diesel or any other fuel for propulsion;\n\nand\n\n2. \"Hybrid-drive motor vehicle\" means a vehicle subject to a\n\nregistration fee as provided for in subsection A of Section 1132 of\n\nthis title that is capable of being propelled at least in part by\n\nelectrical energy through the use of a battery storage system of at\n\nleast four (4) kilowatt-hours, is capable of being recharged from an\n\nexternal source of electricity and is also capable of using\n\ngasoline, diesel fuel or alternative fuel to propel the vehicle.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"efef4b356e6ffaab494303e384fd416bceaa01a690e652fe6feb0284afef9366","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1132.6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-1132a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
