Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1137.3v1","heading":"Registration and licensing of new motor vehicle,","body":"trailer or commercial trailer - Temporary license plate - Unlawful\n\nacts and penalties.\n\nThe purchaser of every new motor vehicle, travel trailer, or\n\ncommercial trailer shall register or license the same within thirty\n\ntwo (2) months from the date of purchase. It shall be the\n\nresponsibility of the selling dealer to place a temporary license\n\nplate, in size similar to the permanent Oklahoma license plate but\n\nof a weatherproof plastic-impregnated substance approved by the\n\nOklahoma New Motor Vehicle Commission, upon a new motor vehicle,\n\ntravel trailer, or commercial trailer when a transaction is\n\ncompleted for the sale of the vehicle or trailer. Except for cab\n\nand chassis trucks, the temporary license plate under this section\n\nshall be placed at the location provided for the permanent motor\n\nvehicle license plate. The purchaser of a new cab and chassis truck\n\nmay place the temporary license plate under this section in the rear\n\nwindow. The temporary license plate shall show the dealer’s license\n\nnumber which is issued to him or her each year by Service Oklahoma,\n\nthe date the new motor vehicle, travel trailer, or commercial\n\ntrailer was purchased, and the company name of the selling dealer.\n\nThe Commission is hereby directed to develop a temporary license\n\nplate design to incorporate these requirements in a manner that will\n\npermit law enforcement personnel to readily identify the dealer\n\nlicense number and date of the vehicle purchase. The Commission is\n\nfurther authorized to develop additional requirements and parameters\n\ndesigned to discourage or prevent illegal duplication and use of the\n\ntemporary license plate. On or before two (2) months from the date\n\nof purchase of a new motor vehicle, travel trailer, or commercial\n\ntrailer, the temporary license plate shall be removed and replaced\n\nwith a permanent, current Oklahoma license plate. Use of the\n\ntemporary license plate by a licensed dealer for other than the\n\npurpose of normally doing business shall constitute grounds for\n\nrevocation of the dealer’s license.\n\nIt shall be unlawful for any licensed dealer of new motor\n\nvehicles, travel trailers, or commercial trailers to procure the\n\nregistration and licensing of any new motor vehicle, travel trailer,\n\nor commercial trailer sold by such licensed dealer or to act as the\n\nagent for such purchaser in the procurement of the registration and\n\nlicensing.
