Stat. tit. 47, § 47-1137.3v2","heading":"Registration and licensing of new motor vehicle,","body":"trailer, or powersports vehicle — Temporary license plate — Unlawful\n\nacts and penalties.\n\nA. 1. The purchaser of every new motor vehicle, travel\n\ntrailer, or powersports vehicle shall register or license the same\n\nwithin two (2) months from the date of purchase. It shall be the\n\nresponsibility of the selling dealer to place a temporary license\n\nplate, twelve (12) inch by six (6) inch size or in a size similar to\n\nthe permanent Oklahoma license plate but of a ten-mil weatherproof\n\nplastic-impregnated paper approved by the Oklahoma New Motor Vehicle\n\nCommission, upon a new motor vehicle, travel trailer, or powersports\n\nvehicle when a transaction is completed for the sale of such vehicle\n\nor trailer. Provided, upon a determination by the Commission that\n\nthere exists a national shortage of ten-mil weatherproof plastic-\n\nimpregnated paper, eight-mil weatherproof plastic-impregnated paper\n\nmay be approved by the Commission until it has been determined by\n\nthe Commission the shortage has ended. Except for cab and chassis\n\ntrucks, the temporary license plate under this section shall be\n\nplaced at the location provided for the permanent motor vehicle\n\nlicense plate. The purchaser of a new cab and chassis truck may\n\nplace the temporary license plate under this section in the rear\n\nwindow. The temporary license plate shall show the dealer’s license\n\nnumber which is issued to him or her each year by Service Oklahoma,\n\nthe date of expiration, and the company name of the selling dealer.\n\nAdditionally, within two (2) business days of the date of the sale\n\nor transfer of the motor vehicle, the selling dealer must submit the\n\nrequisite documentation to Service Oklahoma or a licensed operator\n\nidentifying the motor vehicle subject to the sale or transfer,\n\npurchaser information, and any associated license plate on the\n\nvehicle, pursuant to the requirements of Section 1112.2 of this\n\ntitle.\n\n2. The Oklahoma New Motor Vehicle Commission is hereby directed\n\nto develop a temporary license plate design to incorporate these\n\nrequirements in a manner that will permit law enforcement personnel\n\nto readily identify the dealer license number and date of\n\nexpiration. The Oklahoma New Motor Vehicle Commission is further\n\nauthorized to develop additional requirements and parameters\n\ndesigned to discourage or prevent illegal duplication and use of the\n\ntemporary license plate. On or before ten (10) days from the date\n\nof purchase of a new motor vehicle, travel trailer, or powersports\n\nvehicle, the temporary license plate shall be removed and replaced\n\nwith a permanent, current Oklahoma license plate. Use of such\n\ntemporary license plate by a licensed dealer for other than the\n\npurpose of normally doing business shall constitute grounds for\n\nrevocation of the dealer’s license.\n\nB. It shall be unlawful for any licensed dealer of new motor\n\nvehicles, travel trailers, or powersports vehicle to procure the\n\nregistration and licensing of any new motor vehicle, travel trailer,\n\nor powersports vehicle sold by the licensed dealer or to act as the\n\nagent for the purchaser in the procurement of the registration and\n\nlicensing.
