No more than two separate lamps with a white light shall be\n\nso constructed and placed as to illuminate the rear license plate\n\nand render it clearly legible from a distance of fifty (50) feet to\n\nthe rear.\n\nB. Any separate lamp or lamps for illuminating the rear license\n\nplate, shall be lighted whenever the clearance lamps and:\n\n1. Headlamps;\n\n2. Combination of headlamps and auxiliary driving lamps, as\n\ndefined in Section 12-217 of this title; or\n\n3. Fog lamps, as defined in Section 12-217 of this title, are\n\nlighted.\n\nC. The operation of a vehicle upon which the license plate is\n\nsurrounded or framed, partially or in whole, by any additional lamp\n\nor lamps or otherwise lighted by any additional lamp or lamps, shall\n\nbe a violation of this section.
