Stat. tit. 47, § 47-12-502","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Odometer Setting Act:\n\n1. \"Odometer\" means an instrument for measuring and recording\n\nthe actual distance a motor vehicle travels while in operation; but\n\nshall not include any auxiliary odometer designed to be reset by the\n\noperator of the motor vehicle for the purpose of recording mileage\n\nfor a limited purpose;\n\n2. \"Repair and replacement\" means to restore to sound working\n\ncondition by replacing the odometer or any part thereof or by\n\ncorrecting the inoperative part;\n\n3. \"Transfer\" means to change ownership of a motor vehicle by\n\npurchase, sale or any other means wherein there is an exchange of\n\nmonetary or equivalent compensation;\n\n4. \"Transferee\" means any person to whom ownership of a motor\n\nvehicle is transferred by purchase or any other means wherein there\n\nis an exchange of monetary or equivalent compensation;\n\n5. \"Transferor\" means any person who transfers his ownership in\n\na motor vehicle by sale or any other means wherein there is an\n\nexchange of monetary or equivalent compensation; and\n\n6. \"True mileage driven\" means the amount of mileage a motor\n\nvehicle has been driven as registered by the odometer within the\n\ndesigned tolerance of the manufacturer.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"182ed00adc5f198df89805c350f110691a434839a805fcc719c86aaf80b03aeb","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-12-501","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-12-503"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
