The provisions of this title shall not be deemed to prevent\n\nlocal authorities with respect to streets and highways under their\n\njurisdiction and within the reasonable exercise of the police power\n\nfrom:\n\n1. Regulating the standing or parking of vehicles;\n\n2. Regulating traffic by means of police officers or traffic-\n\ncontrol signals;\n\n3. Regulating or prohibiting processions or assemblages on the\n\nhighways;\n\n4. Designating particular highways as one-way highways and\n\nrequiring that all vehicles thereon be moved in one specific\n\ndirection;\n\n5. Regulating the speed of vehicles in public parks;\n\n6. Designating any highway as a through highway and requiring\n\nthat all vehicles stop before entering or crossing the same or\n\ndesignating any intersection as a stop intersection or a yield\n\nintersection and requiring all vehicles to stop or yield at one or\n\nmore entrances to such intersection;\n\n7. Restricting the use of highways as authorized in Section 14-\n\n113 of this title;\n\n8. Regulating the operating of bicycles and requiring the\n\nregistration and licensing of same, including the requirement of a\n\nregistration fee;\n\n9. Regulating or prohibiting the turning of vehicles or\n\nspecified types of vehicles at intersections;\n\n10. Altering the speed limits as authorized herein; and\n\n11. Adopting such other traffic regulations as are specifically\n\nauthorized by this title.\n\nB. No local authority shall erect or maintain any stop sign or\n\ntraffic-control signal at any location so as to require the traffic\n\non any state or federal highway to stop before entering or crossing\n\nany intersecting highway unless approval in writing has first been\n\nobtained from the Department of Highways.\n\nC.
