Stat. tit. 47, § 47-173.1","heading":"State Task Force on Motor Carrier Regulation and","body":"Enforcement.\n\nA. There is hereby created, until July 1, 2024, the State Task\n\nForce on Motor Carrier Regulation and Enforcement. The Task Force\n\nshall be composed of the following seven (7) members:\n\n1. The Commissioner of Public Safety or designee;\n\n2. One member of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission or\n\ndesignee;\n\n3. The Cabinet Secretary of Public Safety or designee;\n\n4. The Cabinet Secretary of Transportation or designee;\n\n5. One member selected by the Governor, who shall serve as the\n\nchair of the Task Force;\n\n6. One member designated by the Speaker of the Oklahoma House\n\nof Representatives, who shall be a current member of the Oklahoma\n\nHouse of Representatives; and\n\n7. One member designated by the President Pro Tempore of the\n\nOklahoma State Senate, who shall be a current member of the Oklahoma\n\nState Senate.\n\nB. A majority of the members shall constitute a quorum for the\n\npurpose of conducting the business of the Task Force. The Task\n\nForce shall meet monthly and at such other times as may be called by\n\nthe chair.\n\nC. Members of the Task Force shall receive no compensation for\n\nserving on the Task Force but shall receive travel reimbursement for\n\nnecessary travel expenses incurred in the performance of their\n\nduties by their respective agencies in accordance with the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act.\n\nD. The State Task Force on Motor Carrier Regulation and\n\nEnforcement shall:\n\n1. Study, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the\n\nadequacy, scope, and effectiveness of regulatory, licensing, and\n\npermitting programs applicable to the motor carrier industry;\n\n2. Study, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding\n\nstrategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of state law\n\nenforcement's regulation of public safety and enforcement of laws\n\napplicable to the motor carrier industry;\n\n3. Study, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the\n\nadequacy, scope, and effect of civil and criminal enforcement\n\nmechanisms of state laws governing the motor carrier industry;\n\n4. Study, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding\n\ncombining within a state agency any motor carrier regulatory\n\nprograms or law enforcement functions; and\n\n5. Study, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding any\n\nother matters determined by the Task Force to be relevant to the\n\npurpose of this act.\n\nE. The Corporation Commission, the Department of Public Safety,\n\nand the Department of Transportation shall make all information and\n\nrecords available to the Task Force as the Task Force may require.\n\nThese agencies shall also make their employees available to the Task\n\nForce for the Task Force to interview and gather information.\n\nF. On or before December 1, 2023, the Task Force shall prepare\n\na report of its findings and recommendations to be submitted to the\n\nGovernor, the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the\n\nPresident Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate, and the Chair of\n\nthe Public Safety and Transportation Committees in both the Oklahoma\n\nHouse of Representatives and the Oklahoma State Senate, and the\n\nminority leaders of both the Oklahoma House of Representatives and\n\nthe Oklahoma Senate.\n\nG.
