The Commissioner of Public Safety shall charge and collect\n\nthe fees required to be paid to the Department of Public Safety.\n\nB. Payments for any fees required to be paid by any person to\n\nthe Department of Public Safety, except as otherwise provided by\n\nlaw, may be made by:\n\n1. The person’s personal or company check, as prescribed by\n\nrules of the Department;\n\n2. Cash, if paid in person;\n\n3. Money order or certified check; or\n\n4. A nationally recognized credit card issued to the person.\n\nThe Commissioner may add an amount equal to four percent (4%) of the\n\namount of such payment as a convenience fee for credit card\n\npayments. Such convenience fee shall be deposited in the State\n\nTreasury to the credit of the Department of Public Safety Revolving\n\nFund. For purposes of this paragraph, “nationally recognized credit\n\ncard” means any instrument or device, whether known as a credit\n\ncard, credit plate, charge plate or by any other name, issued with\n\nor without fee by the issuer for the use of the cardholder in\n\nobtaining goods, services, or anything else of value on credit which\n\nis accepted by more than one thousand merchants in this state.
