The Commissioner and such officers of the Department as the\n\nCommissioner may designate are hereby authorized to prepare under\n\nthe seal of the Department and deliver upon request a certified copy\n\nof any record of the Department, charging a fee of Three Dollars\n\n($3.00) for each record so certified, and every such certified copy\n\nshall be admissible in any proceeding in any court in like manner as\n\nthe original thereof. A certification fee shall be charged:\n\n1. Only if the person requesting the record specifically\n\nrequests that the record be certified; and\n\n2. In addition to the copying and reproduction fees provided by\n\nthe Oklahoma Open Records Act or any other applicable law.\n\nB. The Commissioner and any other officers of the Department as\n\nthe Commissioner may designate are hereby authorized to provide a\n\ncopy of any record required to be maintained by the Department at no\n\ncharge to any of the following government agencies when requested in\n\nthe performance of official governmental duties:\n\n1. The driver license agency of any other state;\n\n2. Any court, district attorney or municipal prosecutor in this\n\nstate or any other state;\n\n3. Any law enforcement agency in this state or any other state\n\nor any federal agency empowered by law to make arrests for public\n\noffenses;\n\n4. Any nonprofit provider exempt from federal income tax\n\npursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986\n\nand contracted by the Developmental Disabilities Services Division\n\nof the Oklahoma Department of Human Services; or\n\n5. Any state agency in this state.\n\nC. Any record required to be maintained by the Department may\n\nbe released to any other entity free of charge when the release of\n\nthe record would be for the benefit of the public, as determined by\n\nthe Commissioner or a designee of the Commissioner.\n\nD. 1. Upon written request to the Commissioner of Public\n\nSafety by a law enforcement agency or another state's or country's\n\ndriver licensing agency for personal information on a specific\n\nindividual, as named or otherwise identified in the written request,\n\nto be used in the official capacity of the agency, the Commissioner\n\nmay release such personal information to the agency pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of the Driver's Privacy Protection Act, 18 United States\n\nCode, Sections 2721 through 2725. Provided, the provisions of this\n\nsubsection or any other provision of this title shall not be\n\nconstrued to keep audio or video recordings of the Department of\n\nPublic Safety confidential beyond any exceptions provided for in the\n\nOklahoma Open Records Act.\n\n2. For the purposes of this subsection, \"personal information\"\n\nmeans information which identifies a person, including but not\n\nlimited to a photograph or image in computerized format of the\n\nperson, fingerprint image in computerized format, signature or\n\nsignature in computerized format, Social Security number, residence\n\naddress, mailing address, and medical or disability information.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"6c05a0ffcf2f78625641fa0d7f4c5bb28fd7c76884a14a3a70fafc6a9abdec17","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-2-109.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-2-111"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
