Stat. tit. 47, § 47-2-115","heading":"Department may summon witnesses and take testimony","body":"(a) The Commissioner and officers of the Department designated\n\nby him shall have authority to summon witnesses to give testimony\n\nunder oath or to give written deposition upon any matter under the\n\njurisdiction of the Department. Such summons may require the\n\nproduction of relevant books, papers and records.\n\n(b) Every such summons shall be served at least five (5) days\n\nbefore the return date, either by personal service made by any\n\nperson over eighteen (18) years of age or by registered mail, but\n\nreturn acknowledgement is required to prove such latter service.\n\nFailure to obey such a summons so served shall constitute a\n\nmisdemeanor.
