The Corporation Commission is hereby vested with power and\n\nauthority, and it shall be its duty:\n\n1. To supervise and regulate every motor carrier whether\n\noperating between fixed termini or over a regular route or otherwise\n\nand not operating exclusively within the limits of an incorporated\n\ncity or town in this state and all private carriers operating\n\nvehicles having a gross registered weight of greater than 26,000\n\npounds and not operating exclusively within the limits of an\n\nincorporated city or town in this state;\n\n2. To protect the shipping and general public by supervising\n\nand requiring insurance of all motor carriers and private carriers;\n\n3. To ensure motor carriers and private carriers are complying\n\nwith the applicable size and weight laws of this state and safety\n\nrequirements;\n\n4. To establish there will be no detrimental environmental\n\nimpact; and\n\n5. To supervise and regulate motor carriers in all other\n\nmatters affecting the relationship between such carriers and the\n\ntraveling and shipping public provided those matters do not exceed\n\nfederal standards as they apply to this state.\n\nB. The Commission shall have the power and authority by general\n\norder or otherwise to prescribe rules applicable to any or all motor\n\ncarriers and private carriers as applicable.\n\nC. The Commission shall cooperate and coordinate with the\n\nOklahoma Department of Public Safety in regulating carrier safety,\n\nsize and weight regulations of motor vehicles and the transportation\n\nof hazardous materials. The Commission may enter into interagency\n\nagreements with the Department of Public Safety for the purpose of\n\nimplementing, administering and enforcing any provisions of the\n\nOklahoma Motor Carrier Safety and Hazardous Materials Transportation\n\nAct and the rules and regulations of the Department of Public Safety\n\nissued pursuant thereto.
