Stat. tit. 47, § 47-3-110","heading":"Authority to administer oaths and acknowledge signatures","body":"– Release of records.\n\nA. Officers and employees of Service Oklahoma designated by the\n\nDirector for the purpose of administering the motor vehicle laws of\n\nthis state are authorized to administer oaths and acknowledge\n\nsignatures and shall do so without fee.\n\nB. The Director and such officers of Service Oklahoma as the\n\nDirector may designate are hereby authorized to prepare under the\n\nseal of Service Oklahoma and deliver upon request a certified copy\n\nof any record of Service Oklahoma, charging a fee of Three Dollars\n\n($3.00) for each record so certified, and every such certified copy\n\nshall be admissible in any proceeding in any court in like manner as\n\nthe original thereof. A certification fee shall be charged:\n\n1. Only if the person requesting the record specifically\n\nrequests that the record be certified; and\n\n2. In addition to the copying and reproduction fees provided by\n\nthe Oklahoma Open Records Act and any other applicable law.\n\nC. The Director and such officers of Service Oklahoma as the\n\nDirector may designate are hereby authorized to provide at no charge\n\na copy of any record required to be maintained by Service Oklahoma\n\nto any of the following government agencies when requested in the\n\nperformance of official governmental duties:\n\n1. The driver license agency of any other state;\n\n2. Any court, district attorney, or municipal prosecutor in\n\nthis state or any other state;\n\n3. Any law enforcement agency in this state or any other state\n\nor any federal agency empowered by law to make arrests for public\n\noffenses;\n\n4. Any public school district in this state for purposes of\n\nproviding the Motor Vehicle Report of a currently employed school\n\nbus driver or person making application for employment as a school\n\nbus driver;\n\n5. The Department of Human Services for the purpose of\n\nproviding the Motor Vehicle Report to ascertain the suitability of\n\nany person being considered by the Department of Human Services for\n\nplacement of a child in foster care or adoption of the child;\n\n6. The Office of Juvenile Affairs for the purpose of providing\n\nthe Motor Vehicle Report to ascertain the suitability of any person\n\nbeing considered by the Office of Juvenile Affairs for placement of\n\na child in foster care;\n\n7. Any nonprofit provider exempt from federal income tax\n\npursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986,\n\nas amended, and contracted by the Developmental Disabilities\n\nServices Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services; or\n\n8. Any state agency in this state.\n\nD. Any record required to be maintained by Service Oklahoma may\n\nbe released to any other entity free of charge when the release of\n\nthe record would be for the benefit of the public, as determined by\n\nthe Director or a designee of the Director.\n\nE. The following records shall be provided by Service Oklahoma\n\nto any authorized recipient, pursuant to the provisions of the\n\nDriver's Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C., Sections 2721 through\n\n2725, upon payment of the appropriate fees for the records:\n\n1. A Motor Vehicle Report, as defined in Section 6-117 of Title\n\n47 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n2. A copy of any driving record related to the Motor Vehicle\n\nReport.\n\nF. 1. The provisions of subsections B, D, and E of this\n\nsection and the Oklahoma Open Records Act shall not apply to the\n\nrelease of personal information from any driving record of any\n\nperson. Such personal information shall be confidential except as\n\nprovided for in this subsection or in the provisions of the Driver's\n\nPrivacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C., Sections 2721 through 2725. Upon\n\nwritten request to the Director of Service Oklahoma by a law\n\nenforcement agency or another state's or country's driver licensing\n\nagency for personal information on a specific individual as named or\n\notherwise identified in the written request, to be used in the\nhe Driver's\n\nPrivacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C., Sections 2721 through 2725. Upon\n\nwritten request to the Director of Service Oklahoma by a law\n\nenforcement agency or another state's or country's driver licensing\n\nagency for personal information on a specific individual as named or\n\notherwise identified in the written request, to be used in the\n\nofficial capacity of the agency, the Director may release such\n\npersonal information to the agency pursuant to the provisions of the\n\nDriver's Privacy Protection Act, 18 U.S.C., Sections 2721 through\n\n2725. Provided, the provisions of this subsection or any other\n\nprovision of this act shall not be construed to keep audio or video\n\nrecordings of Service Oklahoma confidential beyond any exception\n\nprovided for in the Oklahoma Open Records Act.\n\n2. For the purposes of this subsection, \"personal information\"\n\nmeans information which identifies a person, including, but not\n\nlimited to, a photograph or image of the person in computerized\n\nformat, fingerprint image in computerized format, signature or\n\nsignature in computerized format, Social Security number, residence\n\naddress, mailing address, and medical or disability information.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"df851e83f3f333ebfcfbc7661b2729da8335e1d4ac79249ff662e0ba4de99b97","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-3-109","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-309.8"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
