Stat. tit. 47, § 47-6-125.1","heading":"Autism spectrum disorder persons — Program to train","body":"law enforcement officers on communication.\n\nThe Department of Public Safety, in consultation with Service\n\nOklahoma, the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, the\n\nOklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services,\n\nand other entities or individuals with expertise in autism, shall\n\ndevelop a program to assist and train law enforcement officers to\n\neffectively communicate with a person who has been diagnosed with an\n\nautism spectrum disorder by a licensed primary care physician,\n\nlicensed psychologist, or licensed psychiatrist. In addition, the\n\nprogram shall include training in de-escalation methods when\n\ninteracting with a person who has been diagnosed with an autism\n\nspectrum disorder, proper utilization of the registry established\n\npursuant to Section 1 of this act, proper utilization of any\n\nspecific information regarding an individual listed in the registry,\n\nand any other information that may be useful to law enforcement\n\nofficers when interacting with a person who has been diagnosed with\n\nan autism spectrum disorder.\n\nThe program established pursuant to this section shall be\n\navailable annually to every state, tribal, county, and municipal law\n\nenforcement agency in this state.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7ba401ddca0761692a88fb99de461a5047624c10d7ba059c07b2c30c98c5decb","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-6-125","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-6-126.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
