The Department of Public Safety, not less than twenty (20)\n\ndays after receipt of a report of an accident, as described in\n\nSection 7-201 of this title, shall determine the amount of security\n\nwhich shall be sufficient in its judgment to satisfy any judgment or\n\njudgments for damages resulting from the accident, based on the\n\nreports or other information submitted to the Department, as may be\n\nrecovered against each driver or owner. The determination shall not\n\nbe made with respect to drivers or owners who are exempt under\n\nSection 7-203 of this title from the requirements as to security and\n\nsuspension.\n\nB. The Department, not less than fifty (50) days after receipt\n\nof report of an accident as described in Section 7-201 of this title\n\nand upon determining the amount of security to be required of any\n\nperson involved in the accident or to be required of the owner of\n\nany vehicle involved in the accident shall give written notice\n\npursuant to the provisions of Section 2-116 of this title to every\n\nperson of the amount of security required to be deposited by him or\n\nher and that an order of suspension will be made to become effective\n\nupon the expiration of ten (10) days after the sending of the notice\n\nunless within that time security be deposited as required by the\n\nnotice.","path":["OK Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os47.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9c8f3ec36960dc70de82b3c27439ce44ebec788122e3fa211de97cd3ec94966d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-7-201","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-47-47-7-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
