No motor vehicle liability policy shall be considered\n\neffective to provide any exemption under Section 7-203 of this title\n\nunless;\n\n1. The policy is issued by an insurance company authorized to\n\ndo business in this state, except as provided in subsection B of\n\nthis section; and\n\n2. The policy provides, if the accident has resulted in bodily\n\ninjury or death or property injury or destruction, exclusive of\n\ninterest and costs, not less than minimum liability insurance\n\nlimits.\n\nB. No motor vehicle liability policy shall be considered\n\neffective to provide any exemption under Section 7-203 of this title\n\nwith respect to any vehicle which was not registered in this state\n\nat the effective date of the policy or the most recent renewal\n\nthereof, unless the insurance company issuing the policy is\n\nauthorized to do business in this state or in the state of\n\nregistration.\n\nC.
