Stat. tit. 50, § 50-17","heading":"Abatement by suit in district court","body":"In cases where it is deemed impractical summarily to abate any\n\nsuch nuisance such city or town may bring suit in the district court\n\nof the county in which such nuisance is located, and it is hereby\n\nmade the duty of the governing body of any such city or town, by the\n\nadoption of a resolution to direct the bringing of suit in the\n\nproper court for the purpose of abating any such nuisance. The\n\ndistrict court of the county in which any such nuisance exists or is\n\nmaintained shall have jurisdiction of any such case and power to\n\nadjudge and determine any action brought under the provisions\n\nhereof, and where it is adjudged that any such nuisance exists or is\n\nmaintained and should be abated, such court shall have the power and\n\nauthority either by and through a commissioner appointed by such\n\ncourt, or otherwise, to cause such nuisance to be abated and to\n\nassess all the costs thereof, including the costs of suit, against\n\nthe property on which such nuisance existed or is maintained, and to\n\ndeclare such costs a judgment against said property and order and\n\ndirect the sale of said property for the purpose of satisfying said\n\njudgment and shall cause the same to be sold and proceeds thereof\n\napplied to the payment of the costs of abating any such nuisance.","path":["OK Code","Title 50"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os50.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"afcdd62061863bcb09b37252b333c28be5841c51da98956fd75ca9f40aac2c53","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-50-50-16","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-50-50-2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
