Stat. tit. 51, § 51-21","heading":"Oaths, officers authorized to administer","body":"The following officers are authorized to administer oaths:\n\n1. Justices of the Supreme Court and Judges of the Court of\n\nCriminal Appeals.\n\n2. The Clerk of the Supreme Court and the Court of Criminal\n\nAppeals.\n\n3. Judges and clerks of the district, superior and county\n\ncourts, and other courts of record within their respective districts\n\nor counties.\n\n4. County clerks and their deputies, and county commissioners,\n\nwithin their respective counties.\n\n5. Justices of the peace and notaries public within their\n\nrespective counties.\n\n6. Sheriffs and their deputies in cases where they are\n\nauthorized by law to select commissioners or appraisers, or to\n\nimpanel juries for the view or appraisement of property, or are\n\ndirected as an official duty to have property appraised, or to take\n\nthe answers of garnishees, or are authorized to take delivery bonds.\n\n7. Such other officers as are authorized by law in special\n\ncases.\n\n8. Clerks of boards of education, city auditor, city and town\n\nclerks.\n\n9. Court clerks, deputy clerks, or violations bureau clerks as\n\nshall be appointed by judges of courts not of record.\n\nR.L. 1910, § 4288.
