Stat. tit. 51, § 51-71","heading":"Procedure - Vote - Records","body":"The Senate, when sitting as a court of impeachment, shall have\n\npower to prescribe and adopt such rules of procedure as it may deem\n\nexpedient for the orderly trial of the impeachment cases. When an\n\naccused person has been placed upon trial and the case is ready to\n\nbe submitted to the Senators, sitting as members of a court of\n\nimpeachment, for their decision, the roll of the members shall be\n\ncalled in open session upon each separate charge or count, contained\n\nin the articles of impeachment. Each Senator, when his name is\n\ncalled shall, if in his judgment the particular charge submitted has\n\nbeen proven, vote \"yea\" otherwise he shall vote \"nay\" which yea and\n\nnay vote shall be recorded in the journal of the court. If two-\n\nthirds (2/3) of the Senators present shall vote yea upon any charge\n\nor count contained in the article of impeachment, the accused shall\n\nbe adjudged guilty, and the judgment of the court shall be that he\n\nbe removed from office.
