Stat. tit. 52, § 52-201","heading":"Compacts with other states authorized - Objectives - Fact","body":"finding agency - Uniform conservation and tax laws.\n\nThe Governor, or such representative as he may appoint, is\n\nauthorized to meet with representatives of the Governors of other\n\npetroleum-producing states, and of the United States, for the\n\npurpose of agreeing upon a compact among such states effecting the\n\nfollowing objectives:\n\n(a). Establishment of a joint state and federal fact-finding\n\nagency to consist of one representative appointed by the Governor of\n\neach compacting state, and one representative of the United States\n\nas Congress or the President shall direct. Said agency shall make\n\nperiodic findings, subject to the approval and modification by the\n\nPresident, of the demand for petroleum to be produced within the\n\nUnited States, for withdrawals from storage, and for petroleum and\n\nproducts thereof to be imported. It shall thereupon, subject to\n\nconcurrence of representatives of compacting states capable of\n\ntogether producing two-thirds (2/3) of the demand for domestic\n\nproduction so found, and approval and modification by the President,\n\ndetermine the part thereof allowable as production within each\n\npetroleum-producing state.\n\n(b). Voluntary regulation of production by each compacting\n\nstate within its own borders in accordance with said determination\n\nof the joint fact-finding agency, to the extent that and in such\n\nmanner as the laws of each state may authorize.\n\n(c).
