Stat. tit. 52, § 52-238","heading":"Conservation of gas","body":"Whenever natural gas in commercial quantities, or a gas-bearing\n\nstratum, known to contain natural gas in such quantity, is\n\nencountered in any well drilled for oil or gas in this state, such\n\ngas shall be confined to its original stratum until such time as the\n\nsame can be produced and utilized without waste, and all such strata\n\nshall be adequately protected from infiltrating waters. Any\n\nunrestricted flow of natural gas in excess of two million\n\n(2,000,000) cubic feet per twenty-four (24) hours shall be\n\nconsidered a commercial quantity thereof; provided, that if in the\n\nopinion of the Corporation Commission, gas of a lesser quantity\n\nshall be of commercial value, said Commission shall have authority\n\nto require the conservation of said gas in accordance with the\n\nprovisions of this act; and provided, further, the gauge of the\n\ncapacity of any gas well shall not be taken until such well has been\n\nallowed an open flow for the period of three (3) days.","path":["OK Code","Title 52"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os52.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0e232f0509a378a8a7981165b5bc98e1f3f4f0d9ab36393e8908285682ccc2ed","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-237","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-239"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
