Stat. tit. 52, § 52-287.13","heading":"Definitions","body":"For the purposes of this act, unless the context otherwise\n\nrequires:\n\n(a) The term \"lessee\" refers not only to lessees under oil and\n\ngas leases but also to the owners of unleased lands or mineral\n\nrights having the right to develop the same for oil and gas.\n\n(b) Any reference to a separately-owned tract, although in\n\ngeneral terms broad enough to include the surface and all underlying\n\ncommon sources of supply of oil and gas shall have reference thereto\n\nonly in relation to the common source of supply or portion thereof\n\nembraced within the unit area of a particular unit.\n\n(c) The phrase \"oil and gas\" shall refer not only to oil and gas\n\nas such in combination one with the other, but shall have general\n\nreference to oil, gas, casinghead gas, casinghead gasoline, gas\n\ndistillate, or other hydrocarbons, or any combination or\n\ncombinations thereof, which may be found in or produced from a\n\ncommon source of supply of oil, oil and gas or gas distillate.\n\n(d) The term \"person\" shall mean and include any individual,\n\ncorporation, partnership, common law or statutory trust, association\n\nof any kind, the State of Oklahoma or any subdivision or agency\n\nthereof acting in a proprietary capacity, guardian, executor,\n\nadministrator, fiduciary of any kind, or any other entity or being\n\ncapable of owning an interest in and to a common source of supply of\n\noil and gas.\n\n(e) The term \"unit expense\" shall include and mean any and all\n\ncost, expense, or indebtedness incurred by the unit in the\n\nestablishment of its organization, or incurred in the conduct and\n\nmanagement of its affairs or the operations carried on by it.","path":["OK Code","Title 52"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os52.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"61a6d5b49eead522185187aca26883b5eaab36f8fcd9138778da4529080081e6","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-287.12","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-287.15"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
