Stat. tit. 52, § 52-288.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Energy Education and Marketing Act,\n\nSection 288.1 et seq. of this title:\n\n1. \"Board\" means the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board;\n\n2. \"Person\" means any individual, group of individuals, or any\n\npartnership, corporation, association, cooperative, or employee\n\nthereof, or any other entity;\n\n3. \"Independent producer\" means any person:\n\na. who produces oil or natural gas and is not engaged in\n\nrefining or marketing of such products, or\n\nb. who derives a majority of his or her oil- or natural\n\ngas-related income from working interest;\n\n4. \"Major oil company\" means any person who produces oil or\n\nnatural gas in the State of Oklahoma and who is a retailer as\n\ndefined in IRS Code Sec. 613A (d)(2) or a refiner as defined in Sec.\n\n613A (d)(4) of the Code or is a subsidiary, directly or indirectly,\n\nof a company that is classified as a major oil company as defined\n\nherein; and\n\n5. \"Qualified independent producer association\" means an entity\n\nin existence as of January 1, 1992, that is organized and operating\n\nwithin the state, a majority of whose governing body are independent\n\nproducers and which represents the independent oil or natural gas\n\nindustry on a statewide basis.","path":["OK Code","Title 52"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os52.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ba5c176e244e5341910e54d1336757bc1c41dadf192266b9953848c5ba0c0190","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-288.12","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-52-52-288.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
